About

The B.Well program is an engaging, research-backed group that can reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety and improve coping in children. The group helps children learn how to handle difficult emotions and reduce common co-occurring physical symptoms (such as stomachaches, headaches, or fatigue) by integrating yoga practices with cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based principles—explained in an accessible and age-appropriate way.

Ultimately, we want to help children build resilience, self-compassion, and courage to thrive in everyday life. You can read more about the original research behind this group.

Is this group right for my child?

Currently, the content of this group has been adapted for children between 4th and 7th grade (note: group sessions are separated by age/grade).

The B.Well program can be a great fit for children who are experiencing mild symptoms but do not need the one-on-one support of individual therapy; or, it can be a wonderful complementary program for youth who are in regular therapy and seeking additional tools (please discuss with your child’s therapist first). Finally, it can even benefit children who are generally symptom-free because the strategies learned in the group are effective for combating stress down the line.

Scheduling, registration, and additional details:

  • Groups meet once a week for six consecutive weeks in the afternoon or early evening.

  • Registrations are reviewed on a rolling basis and children are matched to groups based on age/grade, needs, and schedules. A maximum of 8 kids per group is permitted.

  • This program includes 6 group sessions for children (75-minutes each), and a 30-minute follow-up with parents after the conclusion of the group (by phone or in person) to discuss your child’s experience, address any concerns, and talk through ways you can support your child using the principles and practices discussed in group.

  • At the time of registration, you can opt to pay for the program in full or put down a non-refundable deposit, with the remaining balance due the first day of class.

  • If you think this group would be a good fit for your child, you can start the registration process by completing the online inquiry form at the bottom of this page. This form asks you questions about your child and his/her availability. There is no obligation or commitment until your child is assigned to a session. We will be in touch once a session becomes available for your child to discuss enrollment.
